Raphael brings years of experience working with complex financial and operational systems in the healthcare industry. He has worked as an EHR Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst specializing in Professional Billing for leading healthcare organizations including Boston Children’s Hospital, Scripps Health, and UC San Diego Health, where he continues to work today.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Raphael lived for many years in Boston, Massachusetts, before relocating to San Diego, California, where he has lived for the past decade. He is grateful to call San Diego home and values the opportunity to build both his career and family life in a place that aligns with his long-term vision.

Revenue cycle systems are highly complex and constantly evolving. Raphael’s work requires strong attention to detail, the ability to solve complex problems, and a deep understanding of how revenue flows through large organizations. His role focuses on improving financial processes, ensuring system accuracy, and supporting strategic objectives.

Prior to working in healthcare technology, Raphael worked as an auto damage appraiser, where he developed strong analytical skills and attention to detail through estimating and financial evaluation.

Raphael also began training toward earning his private pilot license, an experience that reinforced the importance of discipline, precision, and attention to detail. While he has not yet completed this goal, building Campelo Bookkeeping is part of creating a future with the flexibility to pursue this passion.

He has been married to Fabiana since 2002, and together they built Campelo Bookkeeping as a family business grounded in trust, reliability, and long-term relationships.

Outside of work, Raphael is a black belt and instructor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - family, respect, loyalty, discipline, attitude, and honor - guide not only his training, but also his approach to business, relationships, and community.

Fabiana brings years of experience in organization, coordination, and attention to detail through her work at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she served as an administrative assistant supporting four oncologists.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Fabiana spent part of her early adult life in Victoria, British Columbia, before relocating to Boston, Massachusetts after marrying Raphael. She is a dedicated wife and mother, and family is at the center of everything she does.

In her role at Dana-Farber, Fabiana worked in a fast-paced medical environment where organization, reliability, and attention to detail were essential. The physicians she supported maintained extremely busy schedules while caring for many patients, requiring careful coordination to ensure everything ran smoothly.

A central part of her work involved helping create an environment where patients felt comfortable, supported, and confident in the care they were receiving. This experience strengthened her ability to manage details, stay organized under pressure, and build trust with the people she served.

Those same qualities now guide her work at Campelo Bookkeeping, where she helps ensure our clients’ financial records are organized, accurate, and handled with care.

Outside of work, Fabiana enjoys spending time with her family and their Goldendoodle, Lucky, who is a big part of their daily life.
